Okay, I'll admit, this isn't Kutna Hora. I have no idea where I was
when taking these pictures. I was trying to get to Kutna Hora, but got on the wrong train and was kicked
off by the conductor (but very nicely). Since it was 3 by the time I got here, I gave up for the day and tried again
my very last day in the Czech Republic. I did, however, buy a wooden cup at this outdoor place to make the trip worthwhile.
Kutna Hora proved to be my nemesis. I got to the town fine that day, but
couldn't get out. This was the one day it was absolutely freezing, and I didn't want to wait 40 minutes at the bus stop.
It looked like all I had to do was follow a road on the outskirts of town to a little bend and the main bus station would
be right there....well a half hour later, after walking by fields and menacing dogs by factories (or a collie just barking
by a house, I don't really know but the first one seemed more accurate) and humming Disney tunes to myself, I came to a bridge
that led out of town. So much for the bend of the road...
There was a pension right by the bridge, and I rang the bell to ask how to get
to the bus station. The guy told me I had to go all the way back the way I came...so I asked to call a taxi from the
pension. He called one for me, offered me tea, and was about to start a fire when the cab came. I tried to give
him money, but he refused and saw me off to the taxi. Stupid tourist strikes again....
