Welcome to my Czech travel page. I was inspired to go while coming across
a puppet stall at the Maryland Renaissance Faire last fall. Suddenly something clicked, and I knew that
I had to go to Prague for my birthday. I had always loved looking at puppets and what better place to buy one than a
country known for its charm and history of marionette theatre? Later reading that Czech was known for garnets, the January
birthstone and crystal...well, how could I pass up such an opportunity? Of course there is also the beauty of the
country, one of the few that survived WWII relatively unscathed in Eastern Europe. And lest we forget the cheapness
of the country as well....always a plus.
Undeterred by the cold of winter, not knowing the language, or anyone in the country,
I made plans and was on my way to one excellent adventure.
Please join me on my journey while viewing a few highlights of the trip....
